Another Five Word Review Post!
Having a wife who enjoys going to the movies has me seeing quite a few of them. The good thing is, we share a lot of the same tastes in films, so I can't complain too much......and she doesn't mind going to matinees.
So, seeing as how we've made a few more trips to the movie house, I figured this was a good a time as any for another "Five Word Review" post.
So, here it is....the Five Word Review, comin' right at you! (With apologies to The New Zoo Review)
In no particular order....
1. X-Men: Days of Future Past: Lots of fun, worth seeing.
2. Muppets Most Wanted: This one was least wanted.
3. I, Frankenstein: Interesting concepts, but poorly executed.
4. Kick Ass 2: I'd replace "kick" with "suck".
5. Pacific Rim: Love giant robots....this...meh.
6. Transformers: Age of Extinction: Prime riding Grimlock....'nuff said!
As always, with any "review"....regardless of word count....your mileage may vary, so always check out a film for yourself before taking anyone else's word.
Who knows, you may just find a gem that you really enjoy.....or the reviewer could be right ;)

Well isn't that just Prime!
5 for 5
Have a great day!
Jeremy
I loved Kick Ass, so I've stayed away from the second one, because of the terrible reviews. I might just watch the first one again :-)
Your review of Kick Ass 2 was priceless!
I'm fortunate my wife likes the same movies as well. We certainly see enough of them.
I liked that Muppets movie. Better than the last one anyway.
The only one I've seen is the Muppets (my kids loved it ;) ).
I'm loving the dollar kid movies at the theaters though, for summer. :)
(1) Way to go sticking to your new schedule
(2)I love these reviews in five words- and I agree with you on all counts.
(3) Having a wife who loves going to the movies with you is a blessing, for sure. The Husband and I rarely agree on movies. But I do love going to and watching football games- so we have that. Not too many wives like and/or understand football.
Great reviews! I loved the first Kick Ass movie, but really didn't like the second one. Too bad.
Oh these are great reviews.
I don't understand the last one. What language is that????
I do want to see the X-Men movie... eventually.
This is an excellent idea. Now I want to figure out something I can post in just five words! Anyway too bad the Muppets wasn't good, I normally love them.
@Jeremy: Haha...I've always wondered if I were ready for "prime time" :)
@Annalisa: I sort of had the opposite angle on it...I didn't care for the first one and thought (hoped) the second might be better. I was wrong.
@Alex: Thank you :D If my wife had her way, we'd see way more than we already do.
@Diane: As a huge Muppets fan (past tense), I expected better I guess.
@Rosey: A great deal, for sure.
@Jaybird: Thank you and, luckily, I'm not a sports fan. We both walk the Path of the Geek, so we're solid there :)
@Christine: Thank you! Yeah, sequels don't live up to the original a lot of times, unfortunately.
@Teresa: Thank you very much :)
@Robin: It's my own brand of "geek gibberish" :P X-Men was one of the few on the list worth seeing, imo.
@Julie: Thanks....the lazy mind (such as mine) can work wonders, sometimes :) I used to be a Muppets fan, but these new movies just don't have the same magic for me.
My kids loved the Muppet one; I haven't seen it yet.
I haven't seen the new Transformers but I agree with you on Pacific Rim.
Hey Mark,
I've never heard of the five-word review concept, but I love the idea and I read all yours :)
Cheers and happy movie-viewing!
@Andrew: I think part of my problem with the new Muppets was that they seemed to cater to a new, younger, audience instead of appealing to their older fans....which I get from a money making point of view. I was just disappointed that they spent so much time pushing the new "Walter" character (who's pretty bland, imo) over highlighting some of the older, more interesting, characters. Glad the kids enjoyed it, though :)
@Susan: Yeah, I'm still thinking there's something I "missed" on Pacific Rim. Being a huge "giant robot/monster" fan, it just didn't appeal to me.
@Mark: Thank you, sir!
I LOVE to go to movies, but lately never seem to get there. My husband doesn't always like the kind of movies I do so I go alone if I can't find someone to go with me. I appreciate your five word reviews! They say it all!
Four word Comment: X-Men rocked, Transformers not. I was really looking forward to Muppets too.
Hahaha! Mark, this was FUN. And funny. Though I don't know… the Muppet Movie was pretty awesome… ;-)
Hmmm. I need to get to the movies more often. I haven't seen any of these.
Wow you can do a lot with few words!
Sorry to hear that about the Muppets. Maybe it's not such a bad thing that I missed it in theaters...then again, I do love my Muppets in all their schmultzy corniness so just maybe I'll like it better.
It's a shame that The Muppet Movie was a big disappointment, as I'm a huge Tina Fey fan. I really liked how you were able to convey your thoughts in just five words per movie. I wish I read some of your earlier reviews before we sat through some major duds.
Julie
@Lisa: Yes, I'm lucky that my wife and I enjoy the same kind of movies, though I do have to sit through a couple of 'chick flicks' to make it even, sometimes :)
@Maurice: Even briefer than mine...awesome! :)
@Morgan: Thanks! The Muppets wasn't terrible, I just thought it could have been better :)
@LD: At today's prices, I don't blame you!
@Nicki: I used to be a big Muppets fan, I just didn't like where they went with the past few movies. Not really worth the price of admission, in my opinion. That's how I gauge if a movie is any good...if I didn't mind paying theater prices to see it :)
@Julie: Thank you and I hope to do another one very soon :)
